Veltagus "Príncipe Perfeito" – Chantiers Navals de Caen

Sailing ship operated by Veltagus seen on the Tejo River, Lisboa , in June 2013. This sailing ship named " Príncipe Perfeito " and registered LX-421-AL is built in France by Chantiers Navals de Caen (Blainville-sur-Orne)  ¹ , completed in 1949 and originally delivered to Société boulonnaise des bateaux de pêche à vapeur (Boulogne-sur-Mer)  ²  under the name " Mont des Cats ". Steel hull. Originally a robust steam-powered trawler or " chalutier à vapeur " intended for fishing campaigns in the North Sea, it is acquired by Veltagus in 2001 and modified in Portugal by Estaleiros Navais de Peniche to its present configuration as a three-masted schooner . It has an overall length of 136.2 ft and can accommodate up to 200 guests for sightseeing tours and other special events.
