Portugs "Portugs Sines" – Richards Shipbuilders

Tugboat operated by Portugs seen on the Tejo River in March 2024. This tugboat, named "Portugs Sines" and registered PT-104151-RC, is built in England by Richards Shipbuilders (Great Yarmouth) ¹ , completed in 1986 with yard number 583 and originally delivered as "Brightwell" to Alexandra Towing Company (Liverpool). It has an overall length of 94.5 ft and is equipped with two 1282 kW (1720 hp) ² Ruston 6RK270 main engines, providing a tractive effort ³ of 40 tons. Two water monitors. Top speed is 13 knots.  Coming from Harwich, England, this tug arrives in Portugal in 2010, joining the local Svitzer fleet and changing its name from "Svitzer Brightwell" to "Svitzer Sines". In 2019, the Danish company Svitzer, belonging to the Maersk group, which had started its activity in Portugal in 2005 as Svitzer Lisboa after acquiring Lisbon Tugs, sells its local operation to Pioneiro do Rio and Grupo Sousa, giving way to Portugs ⁴ in 2020. This tugboat named "Svitzer Sines" and registered LX-38-RC, is built in England by Richards Shipbuilders (Great Yarmouth) ¹ , completed in 1986 with yard number 583 and originally delivered as "Brightwell" to Alexandra Towing Company (Liverpool). It has an overall length of 94.5 ft and is equipped with two 1282 kW (1720 hp) ² Ruston 6RK270 main engines, providing a tractive effort  ³  of 40 tons. Two water monitors. Top speed is 13 knots. Operating in Portugal since 2005, Svitzer  ⁴  gives way in 2020 to Pioneiro do Rio and Grupo Sousa. Here, we see the tugboat "Svitzer Sines" decked out on a festive day on the Tejo River, during the visit of the three cruise ships – "Queen Mary 2" (2003), "Queen Victoria" (2007) and "Queen Elizabeth" (2010). REBONAVE "Montevil" – Richard Dunston

Tugboat operated by REBONAVE moored next to Doca de Alcântara, Lisboa, in September 2015. This tugboat named " Montevil " and registered LX-123-RC, is built in England by Richard Dunston (Hessle)  ¹ , completed in 1981, yard number H.924, and originally delivered to the Royal Maritime Auxiliary Service under the name " Capable ". Steel hull and superstructure. It has an overall length of 127.4 ft and is equipped with two 971 kW (1302 bhp)  ²   Ruston 6RKCM main engines and Voith-Schneider cycloidal drives , providing a tractive effort  ³  of 30 tons. Water cannon, with remote control. Top speed is 10 knots. Established in 1989 and based in Setúbal , REBONAVE  ⁴  provides towage services, maritime assistance and rescue operations. Pedras d'el Rei 002 – Ruston

Diesel locomotive operated by Pedras d'el Rei seen on the Praia do Barril tourist line in November 2007. This diesel-mechanic locomotive with fleet number 002 is built by Ruston and features a locally made superstructure which seeks to evoke the appearance of an old steam locomotive. Wheelset arrangement is B'. Gauge is 1 ft 11 5⁄8 in. Located near Tavira , Pedras d'el Rei is a tourist resort and the rail line provides an easy access to the Barril beach, covering about 0,6 miles across the Ria Formosa marshlands. The diesel locomotives, numbered 001 and 002, are painted in black with some details picked out in red, and can haul or propel one or two bogie cars, painted in red and open on the sides.
