Transtejo "S. Jorge" – Deggendorfer Werft und Eisenbau

Ferry operated by Transtejo seen on the Tejo River arriving at Terminal Fluvial de Cacilhas in May 2019. This ferry of the monohull type, named "S. Jorge" ¹ and registered LX-3163-TL, is built in Germany by Deggendorfer Werft und Eisenbau ² and completed in 1992 with yard number 820. Steel hull and superstructure. It has an overall length of 163.8 ft and can accommodate 996 passengers (996+4 ). GBF seats. It uses two 440 kW (590 hp) MTU 12V 183 TE62 main engines and two fixed pitch propellers. Top speed is 13 knots. Its class includes two vessels, "S. Jorge" and "Martim Moniz", both built by Deggendorfer Werft und Eisenbau. This ferry of the catamaran type, named Almadense and registered LX-3205-TL, is a Navalria build completed in 2010, yard number 3. Steel hull and superstructure. It has an overall length of 155.8 ft and can accommodate 360 passengers and 29 vehicles (360+29V+4). Two elevators allow the easy access of passengers with reduced mobility to the upper deck. This ferry of the monohull type, named "Palmelense" and registered LX-3145-TL, is built in Portugal by Argibay and completed in 1982 with yard number 146. Steel hull and superstructure. It has an overall length of 102.9 ft and can accommodate 476 passengers (476+4). Fainsa Arianne seats. It is equipped with a 515 kW (700 hp) MTU 8V 396 TC main engine and a variable pitch propeller.
