Carris 1581 – CAMO Cronus

Articulated bus operated by Carris seen at Praça Marquês de Pombal, Lisboa, in February 2012. This articulated bus with fleet number 1581 is a CAMO Cronus registered in 1997 and included in a series of 60 units, 1530–1589, placed in service in 1995 and 1997. This double-deck electric multiple unit with fleet number 3555  ¹  is an Alstom/CAF build, included in a series of 30 units placed in service in 1998–99. CP operates 12 units, while Fertagus operates 18 units. These units are built under license in Spain by CAF, or Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles. With an overall length of 349.7 ft, the four-car consist can accommodate 460 seated passengers and 796 standees. Fed via two Schunk pantographs by 25 kV, 50 Hz, this double-deck electric multiple unit uses eight Alstom/Efacec 4 FXA 2858 B traction motors. Nominal output is 3475 kW (4725 hp).
