CP 0186 – Henschel & Sohn

Steam locomotive operated by CP seen at Régua station on the Douro Line in June 2008. This steam locomotive with fleet number CP 0186 is a Henschel & Sohn build, construction number 19895 (1925), included in a series of 10 units placed in service in 1925. Overall length (buffers) is 46.3 ft. It has a heating surface of 154,40 m² ( superheater , 54,97 m²) and a grate area of 3,02 m². Two cylinders (⌀ 530x660 mm) transmit motion to eight driving wheels (⌀ 65.1 in). Tractive effort is 107 kN (10877 kg). Weight in service is 98 t. Wheelset arrangement is 2-8-4T or 1'D2' h2t  ¹  and gauge is 5 ft 5 21⁄32 in. Top speed is approximately 31 mph. This Henschel & Sohn tank locomotive was used in freight, passenger or mixed services. CP 0607 – SOREFAME

This diesel-hydraulic multiple unit with fleet number 0607+0607+0627  ¹ , 627 in the foreground, is a SOREFAME build, included in a series of 20 double units placed in service in 1979–1980. In 1989–1990, these become triple units by the addition of an intermediate trailer. With an overall length of 261.9 ft, they can accommodate 270 seated passengers, 40 of these in first class. Each motor unit uses one 405 kW (550 hp) SFAC SDHR 1  ²  diesel engine and a Voith T 420r hydraulic transmission. Combined nominal output (wheels) is 570 kW (775 hp) and starting tractive effort is 112 kN (11400 kg). Weight in service is 150.7 t. Wheelset arrangement is 2' Bo'+2' 2'+Bo' 2' and gauge is 5 ft 5 21⁄32 in.
