Oliveiras – Hamm GRW

Here, we see this Hamm GRW in downtown Lisboa during the requalification works of Cais do Sodré and Corpo Santo. Established in 1981 and based in Batalha , Oliveiras ² provides a wide array of maintenance and construction services. As a note of interest, tire rollers, a specific type of road rollers , are used on the final stages of pavement work, correcting possible imperfections. They can also be used on sites where vibrating rollers are not allowed. Some readers may wonder how the spaces in between the tires get compacted. The two four-tire sets are asymmetric – after the two sets of unthreaded tires have passed, the combined compacting action has been adequately applied over the width comprised between the two outermost tires.
