This electric multiple unit with fleet number 4009  ¹  is a Fiat Ferroviaria CPA 4000  ² , included in a series of 10 six-car train sets placed in service in 1999–2001. With an overall length of  521.3 ft, they can accommodate 299 seated passengers and 2 passengers with reduced mobility. Fed via two Schunk 8WL 126-6YH46 pantographs by 25 kV, 50 Hz, this electric multiple unit uses two Trafo-Union/MOTRA EFAT 64444 transformers and eight Siemens 1TB2223-OGA03 traction motors, two per motor unit, each transmitting movement to the bogie's inner axle, (1A)(A1)  ³ . Nominal output (wheels) is 3920 kW (5330 hp) and starting tractive effort is 210 kN. Weight in service is 299 t. It can run in multiple units, up to 2 units (6+6).
