Coach operated by Surprise Tours seen at Praça D. Pedro IV, Lisboa, in June 2014. This coach is an Ugarte Nobus Midi first registered in 2001. It can accommodate 36 seated passengers and uses the MAN 11.220 HOCL chassis with the 162 kW (220 hp) MAN D0826 LOH engine. Based in Póvoa de Santa Iria , Surprise Tours  ¹  operates occasional services. Here, we surprise this distinctive Ugarte Nobus Midi arriving in the historic center of Lisboa. Out of context, but still an interesting detail, note the different cobblestone patterns used on the pavements. Even in Spain, the Ugarte Nobus Midi does not seem to have been a common model. In Portugal, this is the only one I have ever encountered and is possibly one of the last vehicles manufactured by Carrocerías Ugarte in Logroño, which reached the end of its 68-year journey in 2001. However, its main activity is specialized regular services and occasional services. Here, we see this Alfredo Caetano Fenix Midi making a brief stop at Gare do Oriente.
