CP 3151 – SOREFAME/Alstom

Electric multiple unit operated by CP seen at  Santo Amaro  station on the Cascais Line in February 2023. This 4-car electric unit with fleet number 3151 (coupled to 3-car unit 3262) is a SOREFAME / Alstom build, included in a series of 13 units placed in service in 1998. It results from the rehabilitation by Alstom ² of vehicles manufactured in Portugal in 1958–1982 by SOREFAME. With an overall length (couplers) of 259 ft, the 4-car units can accommodate 208 seated passengers (4x52). Under normal load, they admit 320 standing passengers (4x80). Fed via one pantograph by 1500 V DC, this electric multiple unit uses four traction motors in the motor unit, two per bogie. Nominal output is 960 kW (1287 hp) ³ and starting tractive effort is 105 kN. Weight in service is 147 t. CP 2271 – SOREFAME/Alstom

This electric multiple unit with fleet number 2271+2271+2271 (DT1+M+DT2)  ¹  is a SOREFAME/Alstom build, included in a series of 57 triple-units placed in service in 2003–2005. It results from the rehabilitation of the CP 2100-, 2150- and 2200-series manufactured in Portugal in 1970–1984 by SOREFAME. With an overall length (couplers) of 231.3 ft, they can accommodate 264 seated passengers (79+106+79) and 2 passengers with reduced mobility. Under normal load, they admit 163 standing passengers. Fed via one Schunk WBL85 pantograph by 25 kV, 50 Hz, this electric multiple unit uses a Pawels T-25KVM transformer and four Alstom 4 EXA 2146B traction motors in the motor unit, two per bogie. Fertagus 3555 – Alstom/CAF

This double-deck electric multiple unit with fleet number 3555  ¹  is an Alstom/CAF build, included in a series of 30 units placed in service in 1998–99. CP operates 12 units, while Fertagus operates 18 units. These units are built under license in Spain by CAF, or Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles. With an overall length of 349.7 ft, the four-car consist can accommodate 460 seated passengers and 796 standees. Fed via two Schunk pantographs by 25 kV, 50 Hz, this double-deck electric multiple unit uses eight Alstom/Efacec 4 FXA 2858 B traction motors. Nominal output is 3475 kW (4725 hp).
