Resistência "Lutamar" – Richards Shipbuilders

Tugboat operated by Resistência (Grupo Lutamar)   ¹  seen at the entrance of Doca de Alcântara, Lisboa , in May 2014. This tugboat named " Lutamar " and registered LX-36-RC, is built in England by Richards Shipbuilders (Lowestoft)  ² , completed in 1966, yard number 483, and originally delivered to R. & J. H. Rea Ltd. (Bristol) under the name " Butegarth ". Steel hull and superstructure. It has an overall length of 83.9 ft and is equipped with a 974 kW (1306 bhp) Lister - Blackstone main engine and steerable " Kort " nozzle propeller , providing a tractive effort  ³  of 20 tons. Top speed is 10 knots. As a note of interest, the " Lutamar ", originally " Butegarth ", belongs to a family of five tugs – " Lowgarth " (1965), " Butegarth " (1966), " Uskgarth " (1966), " Danegarth " (1966) and " Bargarth " (1966).
