Carristur 4072 – CAMO Camus


Bus operated by Carristur seen at Praça D. Pedro IV, Lisboa, in June 2014. This bus with fleet number 4072 is a CAMO Camus registered in 1998 and originally included in a series of 110 units, 4001–4110, placed in service by Carris in 1997–1998. In 2013–2014, three units, 4072, 4075 and 4103, are transferred to the Carristur fleet (keeping the original numbers) and assigned to the "Aerobus" service. The CAMO Camus is essentially a Mercedes-Benz O 405 N2 (or N²) manufactured in Portugal. It has an overall length of approximately 39.4 ft, features semi-integral construction and uses the 184 kW (250 hp) Mercedes-Benz OM 447 hLA engine. Owned by Carris and based in Lisboa, Carristur operates regular specialized services and occasional services with buses, coaches and streetcars recognizable under the brand "Yellow Bus". In partnership with Transtejo, Carristur also operates cruises on the Tejo River under the brand "Yellow Boat". Here, on a beautiful summer day, we surprise this CAMO Camus on specialized regular service 91, "Aerobus", passing through downtown Lisboa on the way to the airport. ●

Este autocarro com o número de frota 4072 é um CAMO Camus registado em 1998 e originalmente incluído numa série de 110 unidades, 4001–4110, colocada em serviço em 1997–1998. Em 2013–2014, três unidades, 4072, 4075 e 4103, são transferidas para a frota da Carristur (mantendo os números originais) e destacadas para o serviço "Aerobus". O CAMO Camus é essencialmente um Mercedes-Benz O 405 N2 (ou N²) fabricado em Portugal. Tem um comprimento total de aproximadamente 12 m, possui construção semi-integral e utiliza o motor Mercedes-Benz OM 447 hLA de 184 kW (250 hp). Detida pela Carris e baseada em Lisboa, a Carristur opera serviços regulares especializados e serviços ocasionais com autocarros e eléctricos reconhecíveis sob a marca "Yellow Bus". Em parceria com a Transtejo, a Carristur opera também cruzeiros no Rio Tejo sob a marca "Yellow Boat". Aqui, num belo dia de Verão, surpreendemos este CAMO Camus no serviço regular especializado 91, "Aerobus", a passar pela baixa de Lisboa rumo ao aeroporto. ●

Transtejo "Eborense" – Estaleiros Navais de Viana do Castelo

Ferry operated by Transtejo seen on the Tejo River heading to Lisboa in October 2013. This ferry of the monohull type, named "Eborense" and registered LX-2794-TL, is built in Portugal by Estaleiros Navais de Viana do Castelo   ¹  and completed in 1954 with yard number 23. Steel hull and superstructure. It has an overall length of 154.3 ft and can accommodate 346 passengers and 30 vehicles (346+30 v+5). It is equipped with two 364 kW (495 hp) MTU 12V 183 TC91 main engines and two fixed pitch propellers. Top speed is 11 knots. Withdrawn in 1983, the "Eborense" is rebuilt in 1991 and returned to regular service, first between Lisboa (Cais do Sodré) and Cacilhas and then between Lisboa (Belém) and Trafaria, where it remains until 2017. Back to Normality

After the disastrous choice of the British operator VODAFONE as my internet provider , which sent my connectivity back into the dark ages and whose mediocre or non-existent service affected five months of publications (September, October, November, December and January), it is finally possible to bypass the obstacle with the support of an interested party. The return to normality should occur from February 20th, closing with sixteen publications the cycle dedicated to passenger vessels in regular or tourist service on the Tejo River. As a note of interest, partly motivated by this disastrous experience with the British operator VODAFONE, I will soon launch a new digital space –  UNPLEASANT | LX . It will be interesting.
