Autocares Moreno – Irizar Century

Presented in 1989, the year in which Irizar celebrated its centennial, the aptly named Irizar Century is a coach body offered in lengths from 27.6 ft to 49 ft, usually combined with Scania, Volvo, MAN or Mercedes-Benz chassis with two or three axles and with the engine mounted longitudinally at the rear. Some of the shorter versions have a front engine. Visually appealing, robust and versatile, the Irizar Century, together with the InterCentury, the interurban version, quickly becomes a worldwide sales success, remaining available for more than twenty years ² and comprising three generations of models, 1989, 1997 and 2004. Much appreciated by operators, with more than 20 000 units sold in 92 countries, it will be kept in production for a few years after the arrival of its successor, the Irizar PB (Produktu Berria, New Product in Basque), another sales success, available from 2001 to 2015. ●
