Autocares Diego – Noge Titanium

Coach operated by Autocares Diego seen on Rua Joaquim António de Aguiar, Lisboa, in May 2012. This coach is a Noge Titanium registered in 2007. It uses the Scania K380EB 4x2 chassis with the 279 kW (380 hp) Scania DC12 engine. Based in Alcalá del Júcar, Autocares Diego operates regular specialized services and occasional services. Here, we see this Noge Titanium in an occasional service. The "Royal Class" signature presumes a high-end interior configuration.

Presented as a prototype in the 2004 "FIAA¹, in Madrid, and available to operators since 2005, the eye-catching Noge Titanium can be matched with various chassis, in lengths from 40 ft to 49.2 ft, accommodating up to 71 passengers (71+1+1). In some contexts, the suffixes "HD" and "HDH" are found in the designation – they indicate the nominal height of the vehicle, 11.3 ft or 12.1 ft. In the image we see a HD. As a note of interest for collectors of miniature buses and coaches, Otero Scale Model proposes a 1:87 scale version of the Noge Titanium.

In the background, another note of interest – partially visible, the two paint schemes used by taxicabs in mainland Portugal, sea green and black, and cream (or beige).

¹  "FIAA" meaning "Feria Internacional del Autobús y del Autocar", translated as "International Bus and Coach Fair"

● How does a Noge Titanium sounds like in operation? Sadly, I didn't find any interesting video on this vehicle. But check it out here it's latest version, the Titanium+, on this video retrieved from Nogebus.
