Espírito Santo 300 – MAN Lion's Star


Coach operated by Espírito Santo seen at Gare do Oriente, Lisboa, in May 2019. This coach with fleet number 300 is a second-generation MAN Lion's Star registered in 2006. It has an overall length of 39.4 ft and can accommodate 49 passengers (49+1+1). It features integral construction and uses a MAN ¹ engine. Based in Vila Nova de Gaia, J. Espírito Santo & Irmãos and A. Costa Reis & Filhos operate regular services, regular specialized services, and occasional services under the brand name Espírito Santo, or Espírito Santo – Autocarros de Gaia. Here, we see this MAN Lion's Star in an occasional service. Introduced in 2002, the second generation of the MAN Lion's Star family includes the Lion's Star (39.4 ft) and the 3-axle Lion's Star L (45.3 ft). The MAN Lion's Star is distinguished as Coach of the Year in 2004. A note of interest for enthusiasts – the Lion’s Star is externally identical to the Lion’s Coach Supreme, but it can easily be identified by the rear-view mirrors positioning. On the Lion’s Coach Supreme, they are implanted lower, on the A-pillars. ●

Costa Reis & Filhos operam serviços regulares, serviços regulares especializados, e serviços ocasionais sob a marca comercial Espírito Santo, ou Espírito Santo – Autocarros de Gaia. Aqui, vemos este MAN Lion's Star num serviço ocasional. Introduzida em 2002, a segunda geração da família MAN Lion's Star inclui o Lion's Star (12 m) e o Lion's Star L de 3 eixos (13,80 m). O MAN Lion's Star é distinguido como Coach of the Year, ou Autocarro do Ano, em 2004. Uma nota de interesse para os entusiastas – o  Lion’s Star é externamente idêntico ao Lion’s Coach Supreme, mas pode ser facilmente identificado pelo posicionamento dos espelhos retrovisores. No Lion’s Coach Supreme, estão implantados mais abaixo, nos pilares A. ●

After the disastrous choice of the British operator VODAFONE as my internet provider , which sent my connectivity back into the dark ages and whose mediocre or non-existent service affected five months of publications (September, October, November, December and January), it is finally possible to bypass the obstacle with the support of an interested party. The return to normality should occur from February 20th, closing with sixteen publications the cycle dedicated to passenger vessels in regular or tourist service on the Tejo River. As a note of interest, partly motivated by this disastrous experience with the British operator VODAFONE, I will soon launch a new digital space –  UNPLEASANT | LX . It will be interesting. Transtejo "Eborense" – Estaleiros Navais de Viana do Castelo

Ferry operated by Transtejo seen on the Tejo River heading to Lisboa in October 2013. This ferry of the monohull type, named "Eborense" and registered LX-2794-TL, is built in Portugal by Estaleiros Navais de Viana do Castelo   ¹  and completed in 1954 with yard number 23. Steel hull and superstructure. It has an overall length of 154.3 ft and can accommodate 346 passengers and 30 vehicles (346+30 v+5). It is equipped with two 364 kW (495 hp) MTU 12V 183 TC91 main engines and two fixed pitch propellers. Top speed is 11 knots. Withdrawn in 1983, the "Eborense" is rebuilt in 1991 and returned to regular service, first between Lisboa (Cais do Sodré) and Cacilhas and then between Lisboa (Belém) and Trafaria, where it remains until 2017.
