Diesel-hydraulic multiple unit operated by CP seen at Régua station on the Douro Line in October 2007. This diesel-hydraulic multiple unit with fleet number 0607+0607+0627  ¹ , 627 in the foreground, is a SOREFAME build, included in a series of 20 double units placed in service in 1979–1980. In 1989–1990, these become triple units by the addition of an intermediate trailer. With an overall length of 261.9 ft, they can accommodate 270 seated passengers, 40 of these in first class. Each motor unit uses one 405 kW (550 hp) SFAC SDHR 1  ²  diesel engine and a Voith T 420r hydraulic transmission. Electric locomotive operated by CP seen at Lisboa (Santa Apolónia) station in April 2008. This electric locomotive with fleet number 2609 is a Groupement 50 Hz CP 6, included in a series of 12 units placed in service in 1974. These units preserve part of the genetic code of the SNCF BB 17000 series, but benefit from a more appealing " Nez cassé " body and bogies with a longer wheelbase (7.2 ft)  ¹ . Overall length (buffers) is 67.1 ft. Fed via two pantographs by 25 kV, 50 Hz, this electric locomotive uses two Alsthom TAB–660 A1 traction motors and offers a choice of two gear ratios – " Pequena Velocidade " ( low speed ) or " Alta Velocidade " ( high speed ). Nominal output (wheels) is 2868 kW (3900 hp) and starting tractive effort is 206/245 kN (21000/25000 kg). Weight in service is 78 t. Wheelset arrangement is B' B' and gauge is 5 ft 5 21⁄32 in.
