Turilux – Irizar i6S


Coach operated by Turilux seen at Gare do Oriente, Lisboa, in April 2019. This coach is an Irizar i6S registered in 2018. It has an overall length of 49.1 ft and uses a MAN chassis. Established in 1999 and based in Vermoil, Turilux operates regular specialized services and occasional services. Here, we see this Irizar i6S, the longest in its family, in an occasional service.

Launched in 2016, the Irizar i6S is a coach body used on medium and long distance services. Based on the i6, the Irizar i6S incorporates some design features and technology of the top of the line, the Irizar i8, unveiled in 2015 at the Busworld exhibition. Available in lengths between 35.4 ft and 49.1 ft, and in heights of 12.2 ft or 12.9 ft, the Irizar i6S is combined with a variety of chassis. Irizar also proposes an integral version. ●

Back to Normality

After the disastrous choice of the British operator VODAFONE as my internet provider, which sent my connectivity back into the dark ages and whose mediocre or non-existent service affected five months of publications (September, October, November, December and January), it is finally possible to bypass the obstacle with the support of an interested party. The return to normality should occur from February 20th, closing with sixteen publications the cycle dedicated to passenger vessels in regular or tourist service on the Tejo River. As a note of interest, partly motivated by this disastrous experience with the British operator VODAFONE, I will soon launch a new digital space –  UNPLEASANT | LX . It will be interesting. Carris 2443 – Caetano City Gold MAN 2KD

Bus operated by Carris seen on Avenida Infante Dom Henrique, Lisboa, in May 2019. This bus with fleet number 2443 is a Caetano City Gold MAN 2KD registered in 2005 and included in a series of 50 units, 2401–2450, placed in service in 2005–2006. It has an overall length of 39.4 ft and can accommodate 35 seated passengers and 44 standees (35+44+1). Esteban Urban 90 seats. It uses the MAN 18.280 HOCL-NL chassis with the 206 kW (280 hp) MAN D0836 LOH engine. As a note of interest, the 2451–2500-series, placed in service in 2006, uses the same MAN 18.280 HOCL-NL chassis, but combined with a Marcopolo Viale body.
