Portugs "Portugs Cascais" – Tille Scheepsbouw


Tugboat operated by Portugs seen on the Tejo River, Lisboa, in March 2026. This tugboat, named "Portugs Cascais" and registered PT-104091-RC, is built in The Netherlands by Tille Scheepsbouw (Kootstertille) ¹, completed in 1982, yard number 231, and originally delivered to Bureau Wijsmuller (Ijmuiden) under the name "Friesland". In 2017 it comes to Portugal, reinforcing the Svitzer fleet in Lisboa. Steel hull and superstructure. It has an overall length of 94.6 ft and is equipped with two 882.5 kW (1200 hp) Bolnes 8 DNL 150/600 main engines and Niigata "Z"-drive azimuth thrusters, providing a tractive effort ² of 32 tons. Top speed is 11.5 knots. Operating in Portugal since 2005, Svitzer gives way in 2019 to Pioneiro do Rio and Grupo Sousa, and to Portugs ³ in 2020. Here, on a particularly windy day, we see the tugboat "Portugs Cascais" on the Tejo River, in front of Lisboa, possibly on its way to another service. ●


Rebocador operado pela Portugs visto no Rio Tejo, Lisboa, em Março de 2026. Este rebocador, com o nome de "Portugs Cascais" e registado PT-104091-RC, é construído nos Países Baixos pela Tille Scheepsbouw (Kootstertille) ¹, completado em 1982, número de construção 231, e originalmente entregue ao Bureau Wijsmuller (Ijmuiden) com o nome de "Friesland". Em 2017 vem para Portugal, reforçando a frota da Svitzer em Lisboa. Casco e superestrutura em aço. Tem um comprimento total de 28,82 m e está equipado com duas máquinas principais Bolnes 8 DNL 150/600 de 882,5 kW (1200 hp) e propulsores azimutais com transmissão em "Z" Niigata, disponibilizando um esforço de tracção ² de 32 toneladas. A velocidade máxima é de 11,5 nós. Operando em Portugal desde 2005, a Svitzer dá lugar em 2019 à Pioneiro do Rio e Grupo Sousa, e à Portugs ³ em 2020. Aqui, num dia particularmente ventoso, vemos o rebocador "Portugs Cascais" no Rio Tejo, em frente a Lisboa, possivelmente a caminho de mais um serviço. ●

APL "Ametista" – Damen Shipyards Gorinchem

Multi-purpose work vessel operated by Administração do Porto de Lisboa (APL) seen on the Tejo River, Lisboa, next to the Navalrocha shipyard, in December 2013. This multi-purpose work vessel, named "Ametista" and registered LX-59-EST, is built in The Netherlands by Damen Shipyards Gorinchem (Gorinchem) ¹ , completed in 1996, yard number 3028. Originally used in the construction work on the Vasco da Gama Bridge. After the work was completed, it was transferred to the Lisbon Port Authority in 1999. Steel hull and superstructure. It has a total length of 62.3 ft and is equipped with a crane with a capacity of up to 18 t. A representative of the Multi Cat family of work vessels developed by Damen, the peculiar "Ametista" can be seen on the Tejo River performing various navigation support roles. This tugboat named " Poseidon " and registered SN-8-RC, is built in Portugal by Foznave (Figueira da Foz)  ¹ , completed in 1979, yard number 019, and originally delivered to Administração do Porto de Sines. Steel hull and superstructure. It has an overall length of 94.3 ft and is equipped with two 895 kW (1200 bhp)  ²   Stork-Werkspoor Diesel 6 FDHD 240 main engines and Schottel SRP 503/505 "Z"-drive azimuth thrusters , providing a tractive effort  ³  of 35 tons.
