Carris – Volvo 7700 Hybrid


Hybrid bus tested by Carris seen at Praça D. Pedro IV, Lisboa, in May 2011. This hybrid bus is a Volvo 7700 Hybrid. It has an overall length of 39.4 ft and can accommodate 95 passengers. It uses a 161 kW (216 hp) Volvo D5F 215 diesel engine in parallel with a 120 kW (161 hp) I-SAM (Integrated Starter Alternator Motor) electric motor. The Volvo 7700 Hybrid uses electric mode to accelerate up to approximately 20 km/h. At higher speeds, it changes to diesel mode, during which the lithium-ion battery is recharged. If necessary, electric and diesel modes can be used simultaneously to increase available power. At bus stops and traffic lights, the diesel engine automatically shuts off. For a month, this interesting vehicle was made available by Volvo/Auto-Sueco for testing on the Carris network. Here, we see it passing through downtown Lisboa. Established in 1872 and based in Lisboa, Companhia Carris de Ferro de Lisboa, whose name is usually shortened to Carris, operates regular services, regular specialized services and occasional services.

Produced between 1999 and 2012, the Volvo 7700 is an integral, low-floor bus offered in lengths of 36 ft, 39.4 ft, 42.3 ft, and 59 ft (articulated), and associated with various mechanical configurations, namely B5LH, B7L/B7LA, B9L/B9LA, and B10L/B10LA. The 7700 Hybrid version was produced between 2010 and 2012. The Volvo 7700 was succeeded by the Volvo 7900 from 2011 onwards. ●

Tem um comprimento total de 12 m e pode acomodar 95 passageiros. Utiliza o motor diesel Volvo D5F 215 de 161 kW (216 hp) em paralelo com o motor eléctrico I-SAM (Integrated Starter Alternator Motor) de 120 kW (161 hp). O Volvo 7700 Hybrid utiliza o modo eléctrico para acelerar até cerca dos 20 km/h. A velocidades mais elevadas muda para o modo diesel, durante o qual a bateria de iões de lítio é recarregada. Se necessário, os modos eléctrico e diesel podem ser utilizados simultaneamente para aumentar a potência disponível. Nas paragens de autocarro e semáforos, o motor diesel desliga-se automaticamente. Durante um mês este interessante veículo foi disponibilizado pela Volvo/Auto-Sueco para testes na rede da Carris. Aqui, vemo-lo de passagem pela baixa de Lisboa. Estabelecida em 1872 e baseada em Lisboa, a Companhia Carris de Ferro de Lisboa, cujo nome se abrevia usualmente para Carris, opera serviços regulares, serviços regulares especializados e serviços ocasionais.

Produzido entre 1999 e 2012, o Volvo 7700 é um autocarro de construção integral, com piso rebaixado, proposto em comprimentos de 11 m, 12 m, 12,9 m, e 18 m (articulado), e associado a diversas configurações mecânicas, nomeadamente B5LH, B7L/B7LA, B9L/B9LA, e B10L/B10LA. A versão 7700 Hybrid é produzida entre 2010 e 2012. O Volvo 7700 é sucedido pelo Volvo 7900 a partir de 2011. ●
