In 2003, Setra introduces the TopClass S 417, a version intended for the North American market, initially equipped with the Detroit Diesel Series 60 engine of 430 hp ¹ (321 kW) and Allison B500R transmission, complemented in 2011 by the ComfortClass S 407 (or S 407 CC), a simpler version, with the typical energy-absorbing rubber bumpers, and equipped with the 410 or 450 hp ¹ (306 or 336 kW) Mercedes-Benz OM 471 engine combined with Allison B500R or ZF 12AS2301BO transmissions. In Europe, in 2012 the Setra S 417 GT-HD gives way to the Setra S 517 HD. ●
