Choices

The routines of our days, the things we sometimes don't even consider important, become, over the years, our cherished memories. Life passes in an instant—to postpone is to die before our time. Therefore, it's important to be the best we can be, to be good to one another, to live well in the present, every day, so that we can have good memories, so that we can say—despite everything, it was worth it. For me, every time I skipped school to go see the ships along the port of Lisbon, it was worth it. Every time I almost arrived late for dinner to see the ships along the port of Lisbon, it was worth it. My cherished memories. Today, the port of Lisbon is different, and so am I. But the intense embrace of the sun at the end of the day remains the same. And it's still worth arriving late somewhere, to be in the right place at the right time.

As minhas saudosas memórias.
